What Can I Expect?
When you call our main office number, 651.328.6280, our Intake Coordinator will ask you the reason for seeking therapy for your child and get some basic information from you like your name, address and insurance information. She will then match you with a therapist and schedule an Intake appointment. She will also send you an email link to fill out our Intake Paperwork electronically.
Once you receive your link to complete paperwork, carefully follow the instructions on that email. Please fill this paperwork out as soon as possible, as your unique link will expire in 30 days after being sent to you.
Parents of younger children are usually asked to meet first with the therapist without your child present to be able to talk fully about your concerns and thoughts. At this appointment your therapist will ask you a lot of specific questions to help formulate a diagnosis and treatment recommendations. Parents with older children typically attend the Intake appointment together with their therapist.
PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING SERVICES
Our Clinic has several Doctoral level Psychologists with specialized training and expertise in the assessment of Autism and ADHD. We believe that early identification and diagnosis can lead to the best possible outcome. If you have concerns about your child’s development or behavior, assessment can help you determine the best treatment options.

BEHAVIORAL CONSULTATION.
Our in-home Behavioral Consultation program offers behaviorally based skills training and therapy services for kids ages 2-20 that are struggling due to significant behavioral concerns. This is a flexible package of services that includes in-home individual and family skills training combined with in-office therapy services. This is a more intensive service for families of children that are not able to participate in outpatient therapy services alone due to higher level of needs. Our therapists provide 2-10 hours per week of individual and family skills training. We focus on providing the family with the tools that they need to support their child’s skill development. We also focus on generalization of skills to school and community settings by going with families to difficult settings or activities and teaching in the moment. Collaboration with school and other providers is also an important part of this program.
We help kids and families throughout the Twin Cities Metro with challenges such as:
Autism Spectrum Disorder School Avoidance
ADHD Oppositional Defiant Disorder
Behavioral Challenges Toileting issues
Emotional Control/Anger Aggression

AUTISM SERVICES
Autism Assessment
Sometimes called an Evaluation, Testing or Assessment, BTS of MN provides a full assessment of functioning to determine if your child meets criteria for an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a systematic, one-on-one intervention, based on behavioral principles, that focuses on skill development. Specifically, ABA therapy has been an effective intervention for teaching children to talk and to interact more effectively with peers and adults. ABA early intervention is an intensive therapy that is evidence-based and recommended by the Surgeon General. Research strongly indicates that best outcomes are accomplished when a child receives at least 30 to 40 hours per week of therapy.
Our ABA program at BTS typically focuses on the development of foundational skills, taught by using a high rate of reinforcement. This means therapy should be fun and look like kids are learning while they are playing! We focus on teaching responding to basic instructions, imitation skills, communication skills, social interaction skills and reducing disruptive behaviors. Services are provided in the child's home, as well as in community and school settings to encourage generalization of skills. Providing in-home services allows us to teach where kids are most comfortable and parents can learn and practice therapy techniques by watching us and we can get out and explore the world together.
